Here's the twin brother of #3.

-Same Scott Antes design and bracing
-Same KTM-9 finish except this one was brushed
-Same neck
-Sitka top
-Cherry B&S...Zootman
-Eucalyptus bindings, headstock, butt wedge...Zootman
-Waverly Tuners

The sound is vastly different...quicker response, bassier than its redwood brother. I like this one better but my brother has it now and forever!

Here are the pics:

This turned out fantastic JJ! I love both of the new babies, but I think I like this one better. Maybe its because my build #3 is curly cherry also! Way to go, this really is an inspiration for me. Keep up the good work.

Another masterpiece JJ
I really like cherry and I am glad to see that eucalyptus binding. I have some and am looking for just the guitar to put it on.

Hey there JJ,
What a beautiful little guitar...
Great combination of woods....outstanding.
How are those Waverlys???????
Do you think they are worth the extra bucks?

Thanks for showing it off

Walter

Thanks for the kind words. I love chery now also. This was somewhat difficult to work with...the curl raised up after bending and required a lot of sanding to get it flat. The highly figured eucalyptus bindings were somewhat fussy as well. They cracked during bending and getting the zoot to lay flat needed a lot of sanding and scraping.

Walter...this is my second set of Waverly's and they're really quite exquisite. Are they worth it?...well there aren't many alternatives in the 3-on-a-plate design. Hank Mauel recommended a set made by Gotoh and sold by LMI which I used on the Cherry. They're very nice for the price but I prefer the Waverlys. OOPS...I made an error in the Cherry's description. The Waverly's are on the Walnut

Very nice, JJ. I like the extra b/w either side of the herringbone. That's a lot of trouble, but it pays off.

JJ, what a cherry guitar. Another beauty. I think I like this one the best, but how can you like one twin more than the other The herringbone detail is very nice.

That cherry is beautiful and a year from now will be an even warmer
color. Cherry is one of my favorite woods. I have a little cherry uke in
progress. The herringbone trim gives it a nice vintage look and there's
just something I like about slot head guitars. Maybe it's the classical
heritage. Nice job.

Great lookin' guitar, J.J!
I love cherry, and I use it often. It looks like you got some nice stuff! I'm building a 185 size right now with cherry, and a top I got from Shane, it's looking good too!
The walnut guitar is great too, I want to see them sometime soon.

Wow JJ, I missed these earlier when you posted tham. These are some very cool parlors. I like this Curly Cherry the best. I just got a set from Bob. Very nice works. I hope to hear them some day. What are you going to do with that set of Waterfall Bubinga you've been sitting on?
Congrats on a pair of great guitars!!!

Thanks, John...wish I could stroll accross the parking lot and hear you play them. The Cherry is already in Dallas with my brother but the Redwood is mine for the foreseeable future. I'll be sure to bring it with me when I get to EDH again.

The WFB will either go on an SJ or another 000-12 Fret that I'm planning to do after I finish the 2 electrics I'm currently working on. If I pull off the bend without cracking, you and Steve K. will get PM's describing the adventure!
